Here is what one of our externship sites had to say about a recent student’s performance.
Following her externship, Laporsha was offered a full time position with this employer!
Hi Ms. Germano
Attached is the evaluation for Laporsha. She has been a pleasure to work with these past several weeks. I was very excited to have the opportunity to offer her a full-time position so that she can further her career. I am so proud of the work she has done and I am thrilled to continue working with her.
Laporsha has shown herself to be very dependable, even working independently when I was not here. I had some days off for bereavement and she didn't miss a beat in my absence. I am very pleased with her.
If you are in need of anything else, please let me know. Thank you for sending us Laporsha 😊

And here is what another one of our externship sites had to say:
Veronica was truly a pleasure to work with! I worked with her 2 times in the West office and a day at my house. She was a quick learner, I could tell she had knowledge from her class studies, and was able to use this in what I showed her from the office. I was impressed how she caught on quickly to our EMR program and my Medical billing program ASPC. After some training she was able to do some data entry into both programs. She worked with Mary mostly in the West office. Mary only had good things to say about her also. Mary said Veronica was answering calls, making appointments, preparing Medical rooms, and doing Medical intakes, to name a few. Mary said she was competent, willing to help as much as possible.
Here is what one of our graduates, Katherine Wittenmeyer, had to say about her experience in the Medical Billing and Coding program at NCI:
Attending Northern Career Institute and receiving my certifications has changed my life for the better, of course, and opened up many different opportunities. Ten short days after graduation, I accepted a medical billing specialist position with National Diagnostic Imaging. My benefits range from consistent hours to health benefits and a 401K. Not to mention my boss being family oriented and understanding. Which is very important to me, considering I am a single parent. NCI treated me like family. Being comfortable and feeling welcomed, while working hard to further my education, eased my mind and gave me the extra “boost” I needed to have precise attendance. Ms. Germano, especially, pushed and supported me during my time spent at NCI. My class experienced remote learning-due to the pandemic- Ms. Germano was unremarkably helpful to us during that time; amongst each and every other time we needed help! It is always her priority to make sure all of her students excel and succeed. She is backed by the wonderful NCI staff as well! I HIGHLY recommend Northern Career Institute to ALL high school students and adults looking to further their education and pursue a career in the healthcare field. The staff at NCI makes it their priority to change the lives of the students and open many, many doors of possibilities and opportunities to all!
